Several members of the Omni Containment Systems team including Brian Smith, Skip Lewis and Scott Justis attended the International Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Association (IKECA) Fall Technical Seminar & Expo in Houston, Texas in mid-November. The show allowed Omni the opportunity to promote our product line to the folks who play such an important role in keeping restaurants fire free and people safe. Omni’s main focus at this show was to demonstrate the Access Armor™ duct access door line. It was a resounding success!

The highlights of the seminar were three Access Armor™ installations performed by Omni’s great friend and supporter Kevin Pearson. Kevin is the owner of Grime Stoppers from Black Eagle, Montana. Kevin has installed many of our Access Armor™ doors as well as many of our Super Hinges™ in the area he covers, which includes Yellowstone National Park. Kevin’s demonstrations were superb! They were easy to understand, professionally executed and each step was thoroughly explained. Thank you Kevin for all you did. You are the best! Here are some photos taken at the IKECA seminar that will give you an idea what the show was about.

The Omni interactive trade show booth displays most of Omni’s product line and provides trade show attendees the opportunity for a hands-on experience with our Super Hinges™ and Access Armor™ access doors. They can see and handle up close the heavy duty quality of the Super Hinge™ and the unique service hold open retainer which makes the Super Hinge™ the only NFPA 96 compliant hinge.

All five sizes of the Omni Access Armor™ can be observed both from the back side and front. Most people comment favorably on the self-contained and simple to operate characteristic of Access Armor™, which eliminates the need for easy to lose wing nuts. Omni’s five grease containment systems and their absorbent media are also there for interested viewers to check out and evaluate. Check out all of Omni’s products here. Credit for the creation of this remarkable booth goes to Kevin Chwala, Omni’s founder, and to Gary Weldon and Tanya Shepherd in our amazing engineering department.

Here is Kevin Pearson from Grime Stoppers in the middle of one of his three Access Armor™ installation demonstrations. One of the best things that can happen to a company at a trade show is to have someone from outside the company extol the value of its products and services. Especially when that someone is a highly respected professional in the industry, which Kevin certainly is. Thank you Kevin for being such a valued customer and for conducting the Access Armor™ installation demonstrations so skillfully!

Besides being an occasion to expose our products to professionals in the hood and duct cleaning industry, the Houston IKECA seminar was an event where opportunities to network, see old friends and meet new ones abounded. Starting from the left and going clockwise, Roy, Alex, Trey, Brian, Mike, Scott, Steve and Skip share a wonderful meal and great conversation at Del Frisco’s Restaurant.
